EVALUATIONS

EVALUATION BY COMPOSERS AND TEACHERS

Coordinators and Teaching Professors deliver a report to Coordinating Committee with their observations by subject and subject taught after the end of each year of implementation of the proposed program, as well as suggestions for its improvement.

EVALUATION BY MSC STUDENTS

Postgraduate students are required to evaluate their lecturers. The Quality Assurance Unit (QA Unit) of the University of Thessaly organizes and coordinates the evaluation of the courses of the three directions. The Secretariat is responsible for informing postgraduate students and lecturers about the exact time of the assessment and its duration. Postgraduate students complete anonymously a structured questionnaire, according to the specifications of the HEAEE, which is available from the Information System of the Quality Assurance Unit (QAQU) of the University of Thessaly. The questionnaire consists of questions that refer to the content of each course, the way it is taught and examined, the evaluation is done on a five-point Likert scale and the possibility is given to write comments in order to improve the course. Statistics from the completion of the questionnaires as well as the observations noted by the Master Students are communicated to the Director and the Programme Committee and are handed over to the teachers in order to improve them after the end of the examination periods.

Figure 1 presents the results of the six dimensions of the assessment for the spring semester courses for the academic years 2020-21 and 2021-22 respectively. The average rating is above 4 for all dimensions (the rating scale is from 1 to 5). There is evidence of a marginal improvement in indicators from one year to the next across all categories. It is also important to note that in the category “Faculty” the average rating is close to 4.5 thus highlighting the quality of the faculty involved in the MSc.
