{"id":9356,"date":"2022-12-28T20:41:44","date_gmt":"2022-12-28T17:41:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/icb.sci.uth.gr\/?page_id=9356"},"modified":"2023-12-16T14:05:34","modified_gmt":"2023-12-16T11:05:34","slug":"tuition-fees","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/icb.sci.uth.gr\/?page_id=9356&lang=en","title":{"rendered":"TUITION FEES"},"content":{"rendered":"\t\t<div data-elementor-type=\"wp-page\" data-elementor-id=\"9356\" class=\"elementor elementor-9356 elementor-6595\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-147ed36 elementor-section-full_width elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"147ed36\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-e999eb2\" data-id=\"e999eb2\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-a9ff894 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"a9ff894\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>\u03a4he funding sources of the MSc. &#8220;Informatics and Computational Biomedicine&#8221; are those referred to in article 84 of Law 4957\/2022 and they may come from: <br>a) tuition fees, <br>b) donations, sponsorships and all kinds of financial aid, <br>c) endowments, <br>d) resources from research projects or programs, <br>e) own resources of the Higher Educational Institution (A.E.I.) and <br>f) the state budget or public investment program.\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Postgraduate Students pay tuition fees to the MSc, which are determined by a decision of the <a href=\"http:\/\/icb.sci.uth.gr\/?page_id=9391&#038;lang=en\">Programme Committee<\/a>for each academic year, The duration of studies, corresponds to tuition fees of two thousand four hundred euros (\u20ac2,400). It is possible to pay the tuition fees either by credit card with interest-free installments or in installments.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Much more, the management of the resources of the MSc. is carried out by the Special Account for Research Funds (ELKE) of the University of Thessaly. <br>The resources ofthe MSc. are distributed as follows: <br>a) an amount corresponding to thirty percent (30%) of the total revenue derived from tuition fees is withheld by ELKE. This amount includes the withholding percentage in favor of the E.L.K.E. for the financial management of the MSc Programme. By a decision of the Board of Directors taken by the end of March each year, it is decided whether the remaining amount after deducting the withholding in favor of E.L.K.E. transferred to the regular budget or allocated for the creation of projects\/programs through the E.L.K.E. in order to cover the needs of the Msc. Programme which operate without tuition fees and cover the research, educational and operational needs of A.E.I. In the income of the Msc. Programme withholding is carried out in favor of E.L.K.E. applicable to income from corresponding funding sources, <br>b) the remaining amount of the total income of the Msc. Programme  is available to cover the operational costs of the Msc. Programme\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>The <a href=\"http:\/\/icb.sci.uth.gr\/?page_id=9387&#038;lang=en\">Coordinating Committee<\/a> prepares the initial annual budget of the MSc and its amendments and recommends its approval to the Research Committee of the Special Research Funds Account (SRA) of the University of Athens.<br><\/b><p><\/p>\n<p><b><\/b><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>The <a href=\"http:\/\/icb.sci.uth.gr\/?page_id=9391&#038;lang=en\">Programme Committee<\/a> approves the report of the MSc, following the recommendation of the Coordinating Committee.<br><\/b><p><\/p>\n<p><b><\/b><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>The <a href=\"http:\/\/icb.sci.uth.gr\/?page_id=9413&#038;lang=en\">Director of the Msc. Programme <\/a>. is the Scientific Manager of the program and exercises the corresponding powers in accordance with article 234 of Law 4957\/2022. More specifically, the Director of the PMS has the responsibility of monitoring, executing the budget and issuing payment orders for the relevant expenses, he is responsible for the feasibility and eligibility of the expenses and the submission of the required supporting expenses to the E.L.K.E. for their control, settlement and payment. If the expenditure is not foreseen in the project budget, a reformation of the budget and a decision of the Research Committee is required after a substantiated request of the Director and approval by the Assembly of the department.\u00a0<\/b><\/li><\/ul>\n<p>According to article 86 of Law 4957\/2022, registered students may study at the MSc. for free, if the payment of tuition fees is provided for, as long as they meet the legal financial or social criteria. A condition for granting the right to study free of charge due to economic or social criteria is the fulfillment of excellence conditions during the first cycle of studies, which corresponds at least to the possession of a grade equal to or higher than seven and a half with excellent out of ten (7.5\/10), provided the evaluation of the basic degree presented for admission to the MSc. has been carried out in accordance with the ten-point evaluation scale of the Higher Educational Institution (HEI) of the country, otherwise this criterion is applied proportionally according to the respective evaluation scale, as long as the degree presented has been granted by a foreign institution.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The total number of students studying for free may not exceed the number corresponding to thirty percent (30%) of all registered students per academic year. If, during the numerical calculation of the number of beneficiaries of exemption from tuition fees, a decimal number is obtained, it is rounded to the nearest whole unit. If the number of exemption beneficiaries exceeds the present percentage, the beneficiaries are selected in descending order until the number is reached. The submission of applications for free studies per MSc. takes place after the completion of the admission process of the students at the MSc. and in a period of time that will be set by the MSc.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section
