\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Postgraduate Students may prepare a Postgraduate Diploma Thesis (P.D.T) in the third semester of their studies in order to complete the necessary credit units to receive the Postgraduate Diploma. The P.D.T is prepared individually under the supervision of a MSc Programme Teaching Staff member.
The writing of the P.D.T it is done in the Greek language, but it is also possible to write it in the English language following its relevant decision of the Programme Committee<\/a> The P.D.T must be thematically in the field covered by the specific MSc. and demonstrate advanced theoretical knowledge and practical skills, critical thinking, analytical, synthesis and research abilities. It can refer to theoretical or applied topics and be carried out in collaboration with a private or public body that has activities in related subjects. At the beginning of the winter and spring semesters, the teaching staff at MSc Programme propose topics for the preparation of P.D.T, which are drawn up and communicated to the Postgraduate Students by Programme Committee<\/a> When the Postgraduate Students have accumulated at least thirty (30) ECTS they can apply to start preparing the Postgraduate Thesis. The Postgraduate Students choose from the subjects proposed by the Teachers of the MSc., apply to Programme Committee<\/a> the title and Supervisor of the Master’s Thesis and attach a summary of the proposed thesis.
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 For each Master’s Thesis, it is defined by the Programme Commitee<\/a> three-member examination committee in which the Supervisor and two (2) other faculty members of the Teaching Staff of the MSc. In special cases, after its informed decision of the Programme Commitee<\/a> it is possible for Faculty members to participate in the committee. who do not teach at MSc. In any case, a Faculty member must participate in the Committee. of the collaborating Departments which has undertaken a teaching project at the MSc.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Master’s Student must defend the work before the examining committee. The support process is public and the venue and time is announced on the MSc Programme website, at least 2 days in advance. For the approval of the P.D.T., the consent of two thirds (2\/3) of the members of the examination committee is required. Rather, the Master’s Thesis is graded from zero (0) to ten (10), with a minimum passing grade of five (5). In case of rejection by the examination committee, a new evaluation date is set, at least three (3) months after the first assessment. In the event of a second rejection, the candidate is deleted from the MSc. Finally, the approved P.D.T. after the end of any corrections proposed by the Committee, it is deposited in the library in two copies, one (1) bound paper and one (1) copy in electronic form and posted on the website of the Faculty of Science of the University of Thessaly.
